Steve Dumaine is the Founder & CEO of NTEX Capital. He is involved in directing the sourcing, filtering, selection, acquisition and ultimately operation of high quality business targets.
Steve’s background spans a wide variety of industry, functional, and geographic (domestic, international and global) roles throughout his career. While his most recent roles have focused on ecommerce and online travel, he specializes in leadership, strategy, operations, and technology having led large organizations with teams of over 1,000 employees and budgets exceeding $100 million in addition to acting as CEO, President and General Manager of businesses exceeding $1.6B in gross revenue.
Prior to starting NTEX Capital, Steve served as EVP of Vacations for Apple Leisure Group where he led consumer leisure travel business units including Southwest Vacations, United Vacations, Cheap Caribbean and BeachBound. As CEO & President at Cheap Caribbean, Steve reversed a declining business into strong double digit growth while increasing profits nearly 6X to $14M annually.
Previously, after joining Travelocity as SVP Global Strategy and Product Innovation, Steve’s role expanded to include Analytics, Contact Center Operations, and Technology. In his role, he led product enhancements and innovation which staunched a 24% decline in its core hotel business and drove growth of nearly 40% in less than two years.
Steve served in a variety of strategy, business development, marketing, and operations roles at Sabre Holdings, hotels.com and Expedia earlier in his career. He spent his formative years in business as a management consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton. Over a decade, he consulted for a series of Fortune 1000 companies across financial services, consumer packaged goods, media & entertainment, healthcare, retail, energy, chemicals, and telecommunications. As a member of the Operations Management team, Steve led and participating in projects involving strategy, sales, marketing, distribution, operations and technology functions. His work took him around the world including stints in the U.K., Germany, Turkey, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, and the U.S. Steve also served as an Armor officer in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant and initially a platoon leader directing a team of 15 soldiers and four M1A1 tanks in diverse training exercises.
Steve graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and also earned an MBA in Finance & Marketing from The Wharton School. He currently serves on the Texas A&M Industrial and Systems Engineering Advisory Board and as Chair of the Program Committee on the North Texas Make-A-Wish Foundation Board.
